Pretty sugars and sprinkles
And then this
This is why I hate cutout cookies
And my cat is now climbing the tree
Today my in-laws called with an update on Howie PET scan, not great news but not terrible news-and I told my MIL that the cookies didn't turn out. She asked if I made them on the insulated cookie sheets and I said yes, and she said other people had problems on those pans. She uses regular 20 year old sheets. I only have dark regular 4-sided sheets for other things. I will need to find some shiny, 4-sided sheets to try.

Oh no! Well, it happens to us all at one time or another.
Love your kitty peeking out from under the tree!
Oh no! Have you tried using parchment paper? I never did until about a year or so ago and it really does make a difference!
What happened? Did you forget to use an ingredient? Once I made a pizza and forgot the yeast...at least I now know what Jews ate during passover- unleaven bread!
My daughter made the batch that I showed. I don't know if the dough got too warm. I made the next batch with cold dough, cold cookie sheets and parchment and they still stuck. It is my MIL's recipe and she doesn't have this problem. I'm pretty sure the dough knows I hate sugar cookies so it won't turn out for me.
Stuck to parchment you say? That's rough. It's also one of the reasons I never make sugar cookies. Heh.
Heh, when I was a kid we had a cat who always wanted to drink the Xmas tree water. Not a clever critter.
first, love the picture of the cat...
second... Mother in Law's recipe that she has no problems with... the skeptic in me would certainly blame the Mother in Law for leaving out an ingredient, but i am sure your MIL is much nicer about that than my ex-MIL would be.
dog-gone-it! Love the photo of that cat! Can you spell ornery!!!! (and cute)
Parchment paper really helps, but was there enough butter in them? Did you use butter or margarine? I know that's a silly question considering the name of your blog, but just wondering.
Did you cool them entirely on the cookie sheet before removing them to a cooling rack? Sometimes it's best to remove them while they're still warm.
Hmmm?
