Hmmmm, butter....I mean Steak...

ahhhh, butter and onions. Is there any better smell? In the world? I think not.

I will say that this took me quite a while to slice the onion for this. With the awkward position that my left arm/hand is in, it would cramp right up. But I persevered and got it sliced. 5 tablespoons of butter, saute the onions, take out of the pan and reserve, throw steak in, brown about 5 minutes on each side, throw 'er in the oven at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes. Take out and throw onions back in the pan. Yum!

And the house smelled freakin' fantastic.

You are 100% right. Nothing smells better than onions being sauteed in butter! That steak and onions looks mighty tasty!

My grandma told me that if I am ever running behind on dinner to just put some onions to cook in butter. Everyone will think you are whipping up something delicious and that will buy you enough time to come up with a plan. :-)

Thanks, now I am hungry. You are so bad for my diet!

You mean with the promise of steak and onions you could not get some help??? You need to have a talk with the mister.

No, there is no better smell than onions in butter. Except maybe chicken browning in a pan. Or rice steaming. OK, a lot of things smell good to me--but this is definitely up there!
